Beat Scams

Unfortuntly,Online Scams Appear To Be On The Increase,

Well, ofcourse their are no full proof ways to beat scams, but their are precutions that can be put in place. We need to try and beat this scammers at their own games.

Here are some ideas.

1. Research.

If for example you get a phone call from a company and are unsure if they are genuine or not, research them. Try typing their no. into a search engine like Google- you may well find that someone else has had experiance of them-either that they are the genuine company or not.An example of this is by email I have been flooded with lottery scams saying I have one all this money(another give away being I didn't enter them!)I have found that for example other family, friends may of got the same message too so check like that. Also try typing there details given in an email(ie phone number, email) into a search engine or posting them on a fourm you may find other people have had the same messages sent to them.

2. Caller Display

Which leads me on to my next point.

A Warning On Scams I Am Aware of So Far:

BT (Ironic I know as BT themselfs arn't known for there briliant customer service often now are they?)

A company rung up the over day claiming to be BT. They asked for my Dad and when I said he wasn't in they asked if anyone else in the household could give account details. Now the real BT, like most companies don't like to speak to anyone other then owner of the account( even if its joint with someone else they can sometimes insist on only speaking to one person!) and should never ask for account details without first checking who you are. I gussed they are a scam and I am trying to get hold of their no. so I can warn you to look out for it. This is one of the reasons why caller display is heavily reccomended.Take note of numbers then if it rings again you can see if its the same number(some may try there scams under a new number so watch out for that)
Never Give Out Thoes Account Details Unless You Are Sure They Are The Real Company You Have The Account With.
